Rule 74
Family pension and gratuity
: (1) If an armed police officer dies while in service or within seven years of receiving pension, his family or his minor brother or unmarried sister will receive gratuity or pension as written in rule 69 or 70. But in case of pension, such pension will not be received for more than seven years. Family members of armed police personnel who died before seven years of receiving pension or minor brothers or unmarried sisters will not receive pension after reaching seven years.
(2) Notwithstanding anything mentioned in sub-rule (1), if the person receiving pension is a minor, he shall receive such pension until he attains the age of eighteen years.
(3) If the widowed spouse or widowed wife of an armed police officer dies before seven years have passed since his or her spouse was in service or has been entitled to a family pension as per sub-rule (1), from the date of payment of such pension period and if he or she does not receive such pension or his or her spouse Or if the wife dies after seven years have passed since she started getting pension, she will get half of the amount of pension she would get from the date of her death. However, if the widower or widower who is receiving family pension dies or if he remarries, the minor children of such armed police personnel will receive the amount of such pension until they reach the age of eighteen years.
(4) When the salary of the armed police personnel is increased, two-thirds of the increase in the initial salary will be added to the family pension received by the person who is receiving family pension as per sub-rules (1), (2) and (3). > (5) If an armed police officer dies before receiving any amount due under this regulation, the person who is determined to receive his pension or gratuity from among his family members according to this regulation will be entitled to receive that amount.
(6) While giving pension or gratuity, the deceased armed police personnel shall be among their family members or minorsIf it is desired by an unmarried sister or sister, and if the person is unable to receive it for any reason, or if no one is willing, then the amount will be given to a person from among the members of the family deemed appropriate by the Government of Nepal.
